The Proclamation of the KingdomThese meditations are taken from the Holy Bible (Mark 1:14-15) (Mark 2:1-5, 10-13)
And after John had been delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel."
And after some days He again entered Capharnaum, and it was reported that He was at home. And many gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even around the door. And He spoke the word to them.
And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four. And since they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they stripped off the roof where He was, and having made an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.
But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins", he said to the paralytic, "I say to thee, arise, take up thy pallet and go to thy house.
And immediately he arose, and, taking up his pallet, went forth in the sight of all, so that they were amazed, and glorified God, saying, "Never did we see the like."
And He went forth again, by the waters edge and all the crowd kept coming to Him, and He taught them.
Late on the day of His resurrection, Jesus came and stood in the midst of His disciples in the locked room, and said to them, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so also I send you." When He had said this, he breathed upon them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit, whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them, and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained."
