The Birth of Christ

On December 20, 2004, Pope John Paul II explained the symbolism of the Christmas Tree.

He said it is "an ancient custom that exalts the value of life," because the evergreen tree remains unchanged throughout the harshness of winter.

Before speaking about the Christmas tree, he mentioned that the most important symbol of the Christmas season is the Christmas creche (Nativity scene)
